When Kotak Education Foundation’s Infrastructure team analysed the infrastructure of Dosibai Jijibhoy Primary School, the condition of the classroom walls, roofing, electrical installations, entry gate and doors caught their attention. After careful evaluation, they gave the school a complete makeover.

A Bridge to Hope

For the experienced teachers at Abhyudaya Nagar Municipal Upper Primary School, teaching little children was part of their daily routine. They did not like change and frowned upon any new initiative believing it would entail additional work and time commitment from them.

Initially reluctant to imbibe KEF’s Foundational Literacy and Numeracy concepts, Ranjana Shelke, a well-liked teacher who taught fourth-graders, made the change.

Today, Ranjana’s classroom is full of life, vivacious voices reading aloud, radiant faces sparkling with the joy of learning.

Rameshwar codes a new script

Rameshwar Kamble navigated many challenges as he went from speaking broken sentences in English to gaining language proficiency, understanding technical jargon and becoming a Software Development Engineer.

KEF’s Communicative English Future Readiness (CE-FR) Project paved the way for Rameshwar to code a new script for his life.
