TRTI STEM classrooms - student-centred, experiential, culturally relevant
In a three-year partnership with the Tribal Research and Training Institute, Government of Maharashtra, KEF’s TRTI STEM Project equips teachers in remote tribal hamlets with experiential, enquiry-based pedagogies and field-tested practices with cultural continuity. Continuous Professional Development, 21st-century digital fluency and ethnically rooted, linguistically accessible, low-cost resources enable teachers across 29 districts to transform their classrooms into dynamic, student-centred labs of discovery. STEM education that is pragmatic and hands-on, ignites curiosity, and is anchored in the rural, tribal context, encourages students to apply scientific and mathematical principles in their own environment. Project-Based Learning and content aligned with indigenous lived experiences nurture students’ cognitive thinking, conceptual clarity and academic growth. Going beyond the curriculum, the program fosters community ownership of education and collective pride in academic success, building a 'Village-Around-The-Child' and cultivating agile, confident, future-ready learners.
